Welcome to Live the Original.

“Live the Original” — Notes app, March 2020.

Just a few scribbled words — but ones I would find myself returning to again and again over the years. Words that carried a marked difference and deeper resonance.

Little did I know then, Live The Original would become a kind of personal anthem — a reminder of a yearning I felt beneath the surface. One I couldn’t shake the sense was God’s heart, not just for me, but for all of humankind:

That we would each discover who we were originally created to be.

I believe we were formed by God with uniqueness and intention. Imago Dei. Made in his image. Our bodies, features, and skin… each part of us hand-crafted in wonder and love. Our purpose, personality, preferences, passions, gifts, and talents woven into the very fabric of our being before we ever took our first breath.

O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand. — Isaiah 64:8

Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made. — Isaiah 43:7

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. — Psalm 139:16

Our “true self” is not something we invent or forge; it is the unfolding discovery of who we already are as we learn to live from our original identity.

My own journey in this ever-evolving discovery has not been smooth sailing.

I’ve wrestled with beliefs, worthiness, and old patterns I’ve struggled to break. I’ve met resistance from every side. But I’ve also learned that where there’s resistance, there’s purpose — and that quiet hope has kept me moving forward when I’ve been tempted to give up. That perhaps, on the other side of the wrestle, is a freedom I have not yet known.

Live the Original is a space for raw, honest conversation.

A place where we’re brave enough to face discomfort—in ourselves, in culture, and in the beliefs we’ve inherited—and willing to challenge and unlearn what the world has told us is true. A place where authenticity is given room to breathe, and the imperfect, unpolished, in-process versions of ourselves are welcome.

My hope is that you’ll find your place in the stories, reflections and vulnerable moments and walk your own path of discovery — throwing off the layers that have caused you to show up in ways that are protective and familiar, making way for what is authentic and true.

I believe freedom awaits each of us. This is where transformation begins.

At the heart of Live the Original is a simple conviction: Life is richer when you live it fully awake to who you are.

So here I go — sharing my own processing and stories, not from a place of having it all figured out, but in the hope that you might find language for your own.

That in reading, you’d know you’re not alone.

You are seen. Fully known. And deeply loved.
